REVIEW: BLOC PARTY – THE NEXTWAVE SESSIONS EP

Bloc Party

My review of the new Bloc Party EP The Nextwave Sessions over at Pretty Much Amazing:

French Exit is a poor cousin to the nervy angular rock moments that littered Silent Alarm, whereas on Children of the Future it’s hard to take Okereke’s quasi-messianic shtick seriously when he was howling “whatcha gonna show me fam” on the opener.

If The Nextwave Sessions is Bloc Party’s farewell EP then it’s a pale frigid sunset in comparison to the streaming bright dawn of their debut. Then again – no star shines forever…”

4.2 Stars (4.2 / 10)

  1. Great review. It’s harsh, but it’s very well argued – and reads a history of their skethcy trajectory over the years. Love the star and sun analogies.

  2. Another great article from BTW. I am following you on FB now thanks to the link on the top right – loving the new look blog by the way!:-)
